"INSTILLING THE JOY OF DANCE WITH PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS IN A NON-COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT"
Academy of Dance Arts is a welcoming,
family-friendly studio focusing on the joy of dance.
Our mission is to offer a high caliber of technical instruction while maintaining a fun, nurturing and structured environment in which our students can thrive. We accept all levels of dancers and teach multiple dance styles. Our instructors are all college educated or have danced professionally across the USA. Located in Fishers, Indiana, we provide a variety of classes: ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, tap, hip-hop, Graham-based modern, Progressing Ballet Technique, Dance Abilities, Dancing Duos.
We also offer a performance group, Integrity Ensemble, that gives dancers various performing opportunities at local venues throughout the year. Academy of Dance Arts does not participate in competitions. Our non-competitive, performance focused studio values strong technique, adaptability, inclusion, encouragement, hard work and the desire to find the joy in dance.
HISTORY
Academy of Dance Arts was founded in 1999 by Sue Van Voorhis, a ballet teacher with the goal of spreading the joy of dance to all. Rebecca Jones began teaching at ADA as she was concluding her professional dance career in 2004. In 2008 ADA moved into its current building.
In 2012 Rebecca helped fulfill Sue's lifelong dream of creating a dance adaptation of the book The Littlest Angel. Littlest Angel continues to be performed annually each December.
In 2014 Rebecca founded the Integrity Ensemble to allow dancers multiple opportunities to perform locally throughout the year. Shorty after, the 501c3 non-profit, ADA Booster Club, was started to offer support to the Integrity Ensemble. The ADA Booster Club has grown to offer scholarships and give support to the Dance Abilities program.
Rebecca took ownership of Academy of Dance Arts in 2021. In 2024 she purchased the building where the studio is located. Learn more about Rebecca here.
